John A. Sharkey
John is Klahoose (Salish) and was born in Powell River, BC. He has been creating art since he was 16 years old, carving in Haida Gwaii, Vancouver, and Campbell River. John has worked with many different artists and in all kinds of mediums including wood, paintings, and glass etchings. However, his passion is in wood carving and working in the Kwakiuth art style. Some of John’s inspiration has come from Sam Henderson, Beau Dick, and Jimmy King.
